Chlorhexidine / Mouth Rinse
WHAT IS CHLORHEXIDINE?
Chlorhexidine is a prescription strength mouthrinse that kills the bacteria in your mouth that cause gum disease, also known as gingivitis.
Dr. Shawn and our hygienist prescribe chlorhexidine to treat inflammation and bleeding gums. The hygienist may also perscribe it before a deep cleaning to prep the mouth and get rid of some of the lingering bacteria.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Use twice a day for two weeks.
- Fill until the 15ml line in the cap and swish in your mouth for 20-30 seconds, then spit.
- Do not rinse with water or dilute , let it sit in your mouth.
- Stop use for two weeks to prevent enamel staining then continue again for two weeks and repeat.
